Yesterday we found a nest in our log pile... So that's what happened to the shoe laces in Daddy's sneakers that were in the deck box all winter! (If you look closely you will see a teeny tiny baby mouse!)




Daddy was taking some logs off of the wood pile to put by the fire place inside when this little one fell out! I'm not sure how old this little guy (girl?) is... but it has to be pretty new because it's eyes weren't opened and it had no teeth. After ogling at it we all ran up to Becca's bedroom to watch to see if Mama would come out and get it. After a few minutes she didn't so Daddy put her back in the nest. You could hear her tiny cries... she was hungry, and no doubt cold and scared.



Today Daddy cleared out the wood with the hopes of finding more little ones. We were going to safely transport them into the woods. No babies to be found, only a Mama who tried to hide beneath a log! We have no idea where the babies did go!




So Daddy caught her (with a pair of my kitchen tongs!) and put her in a large bucket...



And then set her free at the bottom of the property... And I really hope that the neighbor's cats don't find her!
