10 Slow + Simple things you must do this weekend that will make your life better!

It's a hard time of year. We all get into these ruts. We're stuck inside as we wait patiently for the weather to turn. But warmer days are just around the corner and tonight we get turn our clocks ahead and our days are going to start to get longer. And soon, hopefully very soon, this long, cold weather will be just a memory. So this weekend as we all look for things to do, let's all take some simple steps that will fill and improve our days and ourselves. If you have children, get them involved too - this would be good for them as well. This can be done individually or as a family.

1. Break a bad habit

Whatever your vice is, sugar, caffeine, soda, junk food - decide to put an end to it, or at least make an effort to cut way back. You will feel so much better!

2. Exercise

Go outside for a walk, a run or a bike ride. Too cold? Hit the gym, try a spin class, Zumba, pilates, yoga or strength training. Mix it up for best benefits. You will stronger, happier and your mind will be clearer. The first step is the hardest.

3. Start a new chapter

Whether it's starting a new book or a new project or deciding to chase your dreams. There's no time like the present. Choose something and put your mind to it.

4. Set a new goal

Do you want to run a 5K, lose 5 pounds or write a book? Set a goal but be sure to pace yourself with slow, baby steps. This will help you get to your goal.

5. Try something new

We all have things we want to try. Maybe that something new this weekend is not possible - like hang gliding or paddle boarding or taking riding or painting lessons, but take the necessary steps and get something in place so that you can at the earliest possible convenience.

6. Do a good deed

Pay it forward. Help someone out. Offer a helping hand or an encouraging word or some moral support.

7. Fill one large garbage bag with stuff you've been meaning to throw away, &

8. Fill one large garbage bag with stuff you can donate to Goodwill or another charity

Do this every day if possible... decluttering never felt so good! Remember someone's trash is someone else's treasure!

9. Make plans together with a friend or friends that you haven't sen in a while. Don't just talk about it - but do it.

And don't forget those who have been or who are going through a tough time. The simple act of showing someone you care and offering a small bit of your time is the greatest gift of all.

10. Don't forget to take some time out for yourself and do something you enjoy!
