Community Service

One of the things I love about my children's school is the dedication it has to encourage students and families to perform community service. It continually finds ways to give back to the community, both locally as well as afar.
This morning Rebecca and I are off to clean one of the beaches in town. We will get sponsored and the monies raised will all go to the Hole in the Wall Camps which was founded by Paul Newman. These camps provide children stricken with cancer the opportunity to lead normal, youthful lives for just one week during the summer. The Whole in the Wall Camps seem like typical summer camps, and for the most part they are. You would not know that these children are suffering some of the greatest illnesses known to mankind. There is extensive medical care which is administered behind the scenes. The camps are located across the States and in locations around the world. If you or anyone you know has been touched by a child with cancer and would like to make a contribution, or just learn more about the organization, you can do so by clicking on the title of this post.
