Input, please?
So I have to tell you that I am beyond excited that I am headed in to the city on Tuesday morning to be a part of the Nate Berkus show featuring decorating blogs. My fabulous friend and designer Catherine Avery thought to invite me as her guest. She knows that I am re-entering the work force, after a 12 year hiatus, as a Lifestyle writer with a passion for fashion, food & decor. To think that she thought enough of my blog to invite me is spectacular and immensely flattering.
My blog... The Entertaining House... My blog that started as a little nothing about 3 years ago... a place for me to write and show photos of my children to my family and friends who live far away has morphed and evolved into something entirely different.
For a couple of years I have used it to express myself and my passions. I have used it as a creative outlet as I had none while home with young children. I used it to keep my writing up to date. I used it to make you laugh. I used it to express myself when I needed to vent... and I used it to share personal stories... Slowly it became a passion. It was more than a hobby, it was becoming a stepping stone to my future.
I started to share pieces of my life and my memoir and stories of La Jolie Grandmere. And suddenly my blog, about passion, fashion, food and decor was becoming a platform for a book I hope to publish one day soon. My book, my memoir, is also filled with plenty of fashion, food and decor.
And here I am with something I am proud of... with something I have created that has received tremendous feedback from you and tremendous support from you. I am honored and touched that so many have you on your blog roll or in your feeders or follow me on Facebook. (You will notice that many of my widgets are no longer working. I bought my own domain. I might have to ask you all to re-follow... I hope not to. I will let you know.)
I am honored that you like my writing and my topics and most of all, I am so honored to call so many of you friends.
So dear friends, I need some help. I need to submit a head shot of myself along with my blog for the Nate Berkus show. Unfortunately there is no one around to help me out. My 9 year old tried. Just didn't work out. Following are some self portraits. Some I like better than others... I need to know, hair up or hair down?!
Thanks!
