We never had a monarchy yet we certainly had a Queen... She was beauty and grace and poise and charm. Her kingdom was simply known as Camelot. Her King, was our President, who died way too young. Our Queen passed away in 1994, and yet her legacy lives on.  Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy Oannasis is known and remembered for her iconic style as well as her contributions to the arts and preservation of historic architecture. For the last two decades of her life she had a flourishing career as a book editor.  Her photographs will forever continue to grace magazines, newspapers and books. She is a hero to many and a style icon to many more - to women all around the world. What was it about her that touched so many then, and continues to touch so many today?  Her personal story is poignant, filled with tragedy and loss. She lived a good life, she lived a hard life. Today, had she still been alive, Jackie Kennedy Onassis would have turned 83 years old.
