Our flag is simple, but she is beautiful. She is the symbol of our freedom, our independence and the image of her waving in a gentle breeze is evokes a sense of tranquility, calm and pride. Our flag and her beauty have also become a symbol of summertime... Our decks, porches, and white picket fences proudly display our flags and our flag's colors.
Why then, shouldn't our flag be the symbol of summertime decor? She is, after all, synonymous with summertime and all the wonderful things that summertime is. Much as pine, pumpkins and grounds find themselves a part of our home decor during the cooler weather, our grand old flag has very much become a part of our summertime decor, both outside and inside the home. As the 4th of July approaches, let's look at our flag as a means of decor.
