Stylish Notes on Entertaining :: July 4th Food and Simple Table Decor

Whether you're hosting your own party this weekend or going as a guest, I've curated some ideas for food and simple ideas to inspire you ... Take these ideas and run with them, or put your own twist on them.

I love using bandanas when I entertain. They make great napkins or, when stitched together, great table runners and tablecloths.  Tie a slew of them together, as seen below, to create your own festive bunting. Place them in mason jars, as shown above, galvanized buckets or wicker baskets to house your silverware.

Inexpensive little flags look very festive in recycled bottles, jars, bud vases, glasses or tin cans that have been painted or covered with decorative fabrics. Cover your aluminum cans with small flags and use them to hold freshly cut flowers or cutlery.
