Stylish Notes on Food and Drink :: Troublemaker Wine

I was at a blogger's dinner the other night at Post 154, a new restaurant in Westport, CT. As I embark on my food review, I can't stop thinking about a fabulous wine that I had. When the one I ordered was not available another came highly recommended. As soon as I took my first sip I was immediately grateful to have stumbled across Troublemaker. And how fitting and perfect the name is!

Created by Austin Hope, Troublemaker is inspired by varieties that flourish in Paso Robles and California's Central Coast. Its flavor is truly a distinct and unique blend of Syrah, Grenache, Mourvedre and Zinfandel. Troublemaker is incredibly complex, yet rich and fruit-forward, with rich aromatics that display hints of smoke and violets, bright fruit on the palate and a long finish.. Troublemaker shows amazing depth and structure.  I was completely taken by this wine's big flavor and full body. It was as smooth as some of the much much pricier wines I enjoy. This wine perfectly accompanied seafood, fish, meat, and dessert.

At around $16 a bottle this makes not only a great every day table wine, but a wonderful hostess gift for those on a budget.

My review on Post 154 will be available on Moffly Media's website in the next couple of weeks.

Here's a visual sneak peek of some of the items we sampled the other night...

How's that for a teaser?
My pants are STILL tight!
