Why Why Why Why?

Why does it takes 20 minutes to set up for an activity like painting, or Play Doh or similar arts and crafts activities and only 5 minutes to participate and another 30 minutes to clean up from said activity? And yet, when it comes to playing Peek A Boo or jumping on Mommy or bouncing a ball or doing someting else trememdously boring they can last hours upon hours?
