For Ladies who Like Liquid Lunches ;)

A few of you have requested the Sparkling Sangria Recipe I made for my girls this past weekend. (That should read girlfriends, so as not to have you all thinking I am feeding sangria to my children!)

Truth be told I really winged it... is that a word? I made it up on the spot. The following measures are approximations and you may want to take a few sips to make a few adjustments here and there...

Ingredients:

Lemonade, 1/2 container
Strawberries, 1 lb
Limoncello 1/4 cup
Prosecco

Directions:
Wash quarter strawberries, toss into a large pitcher
Add 1/2 container of good quality lemonade and 1/4 Limoncello. Place in fridge for at least an hour and up to 3... but not so long that the strawberries get mushy.

Just prior to serving add the bottle of Prosecco. Prosecco is an Italian sparkling wine. It is inexpensive and makes a great stand in for champagne. Many Proseccos are wonderful on their own. If I can't have my Veuve, Dom or Perrier Jouet, I'll open a bottle of Prosecco.

This is a wonderfully light and refreshing drink... perfect for a patio lunch or late afternoon cocktail on the deck.
Last summer I made a similar version but used frozen raspberries... it was also outstanding. Not too long ago when I hosted my book club I made a Sparkling Citrus Sangria... also amazing. There is something about sangria that I love... it love it more when it "sparkles!" It festive without being over the top.

Cheers Everyone!
