in an Instagr.am ...

Do you have Instagram? If you have an iPhone you should. If you don't have an iPhone you should get one solely for this fabulous photo taking and sharing tool. It brings picture taking to a whole new level. First of all, the camera on the iPhone is so extraordinary I find that it captures the details of our every day lives as well, if not better than a regular point and shoot, or DSLR. Really, it's that good. I use my iPhone for food photography, to hone in on details we might ordinarily miss or simply to capture something extraordinary from our ordinary day... Instagr.am does more than simply capture the beauty of the everyday, it offers many features that allow you to edit, enhance and manipulate your photograph, giving it a more artistic, softer, brighter, bolder or edgier appearance. Instagr.am is changing the face of instant photography as we know it.

A simple cup of hot cocoa with the kids one morning looks as though it could grace the pages of a food magazine...

Can't you practically smell and taste these bagels? Can't you tell how warm (just out of the oven) they are?

an ordinary moment of an ordinary day....

Oh yes! I think I have a slight carbohydrate problem!

Our hydrangea were simply out of the world spectacular last summer. I had to cut some and bring them inside. (Yes, I do keep garden sheers in my car!)

Killing time during an Open House... Starbucks has been our home away from home on cold weekend days.

Out to lunch with a friend. I was taken by the pattern of the awning in my coffee cup...

Out to lunch with friends... again! I love to photograph food!

A quick shot of the slap-shot job I did for the Valentine's Day cupcakes... trust me, the photo is kind!

At Trader Joe's I was taken by the beauty of a few simple roses...

Instagram's ability to make the ordinary extraordinary. More roses at Trader Joe's...

My son turned 11. He wanted sushi for his Birthday lunch...

Again out to lunch to celebrate a friend's Birthday. I was struck by the beauty and simplicity of our friend's restaurant.

A shot of the bar at the same restaurant...

My lunch at the same restaurant, Little Pub in Ridgefield, Connecticut... Yes, this was a BLT... I've never had anything like it! I dreamt about this sandwich for days!

Celebrating the goodness, the ordinary and extraordinary of everyday with a close girl friend...

I snapped this while waiting on line at Panera... Doesn't this look amazing? I had a salad instead!

My six year old had fun playing with my first grown up camera... I thought of the irony of taking the picture with my iPhone and sharing it via Instagram...

Red, red, wine...

I was taken with the beauty of the bowl of ornaments that were sitting out on the coffee table.

Outside the garden at my children's school. My eye is drawn to threes.

There is beauty in the everyday. We may not notice it, but it is there!

And what I love most about Instagram is that I can share (if I choose to do so) my pictures instantly via Twitter, Facebook and those who follow me on Instagram. I can also email any photo to whomever I choose, like my mother, who does not follow me on any form of social media.

Have a lovely, wonderful rest of your weekend!

XOXO,
