Preppy Fashionistas take note: Target Announces its Next Design Partnership with Lilly Pulitzer

Target Corporation, the Minneapolis-based retailer, announced yesterday that its next designer partnership, will be with the iconic Palm Beach brand created by Lilly Pulitzer. Target made its announcement in grand style, renting out the Four Season Restaurant's pool room in midtown Manhattan. Guests, which included top New York editors, were led to the secret location with nothing but clues dangling from signs which hung on the hallway walls that lead to a room with models wearing Lilly's vibrant prints lounging on hammocks around a small pool in the center of the room. There were even a handful of exotic birds, including a macaw, to perfectly set the tone.

Scattered throughout, were samples of the Lilly Pulitzer for Target collection. There are expected to be about 250 items that range from women's and children's clothing to dishes, towels, nail polish and hammocks. The price-point for most of these items will not exceed $30, yet will range from $2 to $150.

The Lilly Pulitzer team has been working with Target for about a year on this collaboration that includes 15 exclusive prints, which are updated versions of Pulitzer's designs over of the years. The items will hit stores and Target's website on April 19. I may or may not be camping out overnight waiting for those doors to open!
