Eating Thin Mints in Bed

And I wonder why I still can't fit into my pre-pregnancy jeans! I really wanted something sweet after dinner last night. And the Thin Mints were the perfect treat. Daddy was downstairs on the couch, about to pass out, watching TV and the three kiddos were asleep in their beds. So up I went with the cookies to enjoy them uninterrupted, every bite, every crumb. Every mintychocolateygoodness! I could rustle the wrapper without worrying about a Little One with Radar Hearing (really, it is amazing what they can and cannot hear, isn't it!?) Because unless they are asleep I can be all the way on the other side of the house and a Little One with Radar Hearing will come and seek me out and make me share! So when I indulge myself at night I don't have to share. And that's almost as good as the cookie itself!

Yesterday before we left for school Christopher pulled something out of his backpack.

"I forgot to give these to you for Mother's Day, Momma," he said as he handed me a lovely multicolored flower he made from tissue paper and a card in which he had written my name and next to each letter of my name an adjective.

Here was what I was delighted to read: (Explanation below)

Joyful
Exciting
Sweet as soda
Special
In replaseable
Cleaner
Art

I love it!

Christopher adores adores adores soda (pop) more than anything. He is not allowed to have it often, but if we go out to dinner I will let him order a Sprite (his absolute favorite) on occasion. And I howled when I read "Cleaner." I have a thing with the vacuum. it's a running joke around here. It doesn't even get put away all that often. I cannot tell you how many times a day I vacuum the kitchen alone!

Alexander got dragged around on many errands yesterday as typically happens on Mondays. First stop was the bank. But we had a bit of a wait. The bank opens at 9:00 and we still had about 15 minutes. (We were early because the other two have to be at school at 8:30 and school is near the bank.) Alexander really had to go to the bathroom. Really badly. Really, really badly. There was no place nearby and so I told him to hold it and I was sure that the bank would let him use the bathroom there. Meantime I was doing my best to distract him, and let him walk around in the car... you can do this in a van! Eventually the doors to the bank opened and we went in. Alexander was so excited when he saw his deposit slips. He always has to fill one out. The his eye caught sight of a huge jar of lolipops with te bank's initial on them. So he asked if he could have one and he could. He was happily sucking along and we went back to the car.

As I pulled out of the parking lot Alexander made a noise that resembled a groan-sigh my preteen makes, then said "For the love of God, Mommy, I forgot to pee!"
