Update and OOTD

I cannot tell you how happy I was when I turned the camera on this morning! I thought for sure I was out $400... but the rice must have helped (or perhaps it was the blow dryer!) and this morning I finally got an image in my lens! I so would have brought the camera with me to my MRI but I couldn't have a spec of metal on me. I even had to take off my pony tail holder!

Anyone notice the Christmas stocking hanging on my door? LOL, Whoops!

I had this outfit carefully planned out. My sweater could slide off easily to expose my arm and shoulder. Beneath it I had on a white tank that was sleeveless for the injections (lidocaine and the contrast dye) and the MRI. Obviously the earrings, rings and watch would have to come off. As well as my silver Revas.I wore the periwinkle Pashmina because I felt really naked without a necklace as the tank was cut fairly low. Besides it was warm enough today so that I could wear this without a coat. Hallelujah!

But as it turned out I had to crawl into an icky gown. Metal on the zipper or my jeans and my bra strap!

The process wasn't bad at all. The cocktail of Benedryl and Prednisone had me in a verrrry relaxed state. I was scared of the contrast dye. Scared that I would have a reaction to it but I didn't. The only really odd sensation was having what felt like 5 pounds of fluid in my arm. It was very hard and heavy to move! Since I was told not to lift anything I got taken out to lunch by my husband who played chauffeur to me for the day.

The MRI wasn't too bad either. I went into what was called an open MRI -- though I saw nothing open! I was positioned, given ear plugs and head phones. I was in there for about 30 minutes as they shot all angles of my shoulder. I could hear what sounded like drilling. It was loud but not horrific. There MRI vibrated ever so slightly that I felt like I was in a baby's bouncy chair! I was comfortable and nearly dozed off several times.

I have a CD of my shoulder and will meet with the surgeon on Friday to see what the next step should be.

After lunch we headed home and I was instructed to take a nap! When I woke up the effects of my cocktail had worn off and the kids were already home from school!

I'm doomed for a terrible day tomorrow! ;)
