It's been a while...
Here I am!
I've been a terrible blogger - I've been so incredibly busy with my boys. Instead of trying to juggle everything with a mediocre result at best I have decided that the rest of the summer will be dedicated to the children. During down times I will try to take on small projects, but otherwise, no work until September. It's really not fair to anyone... the kids, myself or the people that hire me for projects.
I'm just back from a lovely trip to Newport with the boys. There I attended a most fabulous dinner party hosted by my friend Cynthia of The Daily Basics, to celebrate the recent publication of Frances and Louis Mayes Under the Tuscan Sun cookbook. I've made a promise to myself that I will not buy any more cookbooks. This is a promise I might have to break!
Wasn't our setting magnificent?
We started our meal off with these wonderful little toasts topped with a bean and sage spread. These were simply fabulous. For the recipe please visit The Daily Basics.
While in Newport we also spent some time playing, splashing and lounging poolside.
We spent some lovely time with my aunt, uncle and cousins at their lovely beach club...
And the kids went crazy all weekend long with junk and fun treats like hot dogs, cheeseburgers, French fries and ice cream... lots and lots of ice cream was consumed this weekend!
We went to visit some friends on the Cape (Cape Cod) one day and laughed in amusement as we saw this boat sitting in Newport harbor!
We are back home now... for a few days... perhaps long enough to do some laundry and jump back in the car!
